Monel 400 alloy (UNS N04400 or MCu-28-1.5-1.8 or Ni68Cu28Fe) is a nickel-based alloy material with good corrosion resistance in seawater, chemical solvents, ammonia, sulfur, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, various acidic media such as sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid, organic acids, alkaline media, salts and molten salts.

- Chemical composition
Monel400 is mainly composed of about 65% nickel (Ni) and 30% copper (Cu), and contains a small amount of iron (Fe), usually between 1% and 2%. Nickel and copper can be mutually dissolved in any proportion, so there is generally no intermetallic phase precipitation. - Corrosion resistance
Monel400 performs well in a variety of corrosive media, including:
- Acidic media: such as sulfuric acid, hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, phosphoric acid and organic acids.
