4J36 is a special low expansion iron nickel alloy with an ultra-low coefficient of expansion. The control of carbon and manganese components is critical. Cold deformation can reduce the coefficient of thermal expansion, while heat treatment within specific temperature ranges stabilizes thermal expansion properties.
The main chemical components include iron, nickel, and cobalt, with nickel content typically 35.0%-37.0%. Within -100°C to 200°C, its average coefficient of linear expansion is approximately 1.2 x 10^-6/°C.

4J36 alloy features high tensile strength (490-680 MPa) and yield strength (≥240 MPa). Elongation rate ranges 25%-35%, with hardness of 130-180 HB (annealed) and 170-200 HB (cold-rolled). These properties enable the alloy to withstand significant forces while maintaining stability.
While corrosion-resistant in dry air, 4J36 requires protective measures in humid environments. It can be welded using all standard processes (TIG, MIG, plasma), with low heat input and interlayer temperature below 120℃ recommended.
